Mathis Albert became the youngest American to make his Bundesliga debut on Sunday as the 16-year-old winger came off the bench for the final moments of Borussia Dortmund's 4-0 win over Freiburg.

Albert's Journey to the First Team

Albert had previously been named to the bench three times, but was officially handed his Bundesliga debut in the 88th minute of Sunday's match. He had been in and around the Dortmund first team for the last few months and was part of the club's traveling party for last summer's Club World Cup.
