Arsenal are preparing to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley this Sunday, aiming to claim their first trophy of the season.

Manager Mikel Arteta said the final training session on Saturday will be decisive for the availability of midfielder Martin Odegaard and defender Jurrien Timber.

We have another training session [on Saturday], so the ones that are in contention hopefully can give us good news.

Odegaard has not featured since the draw with Brentford last month, while Timber was forced off during the 2-0 win over Everton last Saturday.

Arteta also highlighted the difficulty of trimming his squad to the required 20 players for the final, noting that every player has been involved in the competition.

Everybody has been involved in the competition, and on the last day when you have the option to be at Wembley, not to give the opportunity for someone to be there, it’s difficult.

Regarding the challenge posed by City, Arteta stressed the importance of confidence and meticulous preparation in the next 48 hours.

All the preparation and all the enjoyment in the next 48 hours to get to Wembley in the best possible way, really prepared and confident that we’re going to make it happen.

Beyond the Carabao Cup, Arsenal remain in a strong position to pursue an unprecedented quadruple, leading the Premier League by nine points while also preparing for a Champions League quarter‑final against Sporting CP and an FA Cup quarter‑final clash with Southampton.
