Mohamed Salah warned off MLS move to join Lionel Messi – Saudi Pro League advised
Salah warned off MLS move to join Messi
As Mohamed Salah prepares to leave Liverpool as a free agent, he has been warned off a move to join Inter Miami star Lionel Messi in MLS. The Egyptian forward’s national team director, Ibrahim Hassan, told On Sport that a shift to Major League Soccer would leave Salah “far too out of the spotlight,” adding that “you won’t remember Salah any more than I remember Messi now.”
National team director advises Saudi Pro League move
Hassan said he would prefer Salah to stay in Europe, citing interest from Paris Saint‑Germain, Bayern Munich and Italian clubs. If no European offer arrives, he believes a switch to the Saudi Pro League would be logical, especially with big names such as Cristiano Ronaldo already there. He noted that “if he does not receive offers from Europe, then a move to the Saudi league would be a good option.”
MLS commissioner leaves door open for Salah
Despite the warning, MLS commissioner Don Garber has left the door open, stating that “Mo Salah is one of the great players in the history of the Premier League… I’d love to see him in our league.” He added that the league would welcome Salah with open arms and suggested he reach out to Leo Messi and Thomas Muller to see how happy they have been in the United States.
